Storm Trunk Rehabilitation

Edmonton, AB

Project Overview

Innovating Underground to Restore Critical Municipal Infrastructure

This project involved the rehabilitation of a major sanitary trunk line, a critical component of a City’s municipal wastewater system serving the region’s 1.6M residents. The work included the installation of a new liner within the existing pipe, restoring structural integrity and extending the service life of this essential underground asset.

To facilitate construction, a deep access shaft was installed and later converted into a permanent manhole. Given the scale and repetitive nature of the work, the team developed custom components that attached directly to liner segments, improving transport efficiency within the tunnel and accelerating installation.

This innovative approach, combined with the team’s dedication and close collaboration with stakeholders, enhanced productivity, reduced schedule impacts, and ensured consistent, high-quality results across the full length of the rehabilitation.
